Frequently Asked Questions

I want to work at Myrkur! What will it take?

Myrkur Games is seeking deeply passionate and creative individuals who are driven to make incredible video game experiences. We value self-starters who would thrive in an exciting studio working with a highly driven, multi-disciplinary team.

We look for portfolios and/or work experience that is directly transferable to our games.

What should be in my portfolio or demo reel?

When considering applications we pay careful attention to portfolios. Portfolios are one of the best ways for us to evaluate applicant skill, ability, and game development understanding. The most important thing for your portfolio submission is to show us work which is applicable to the position you are applying for.

Your portfolio should show us that you have a solid understanding of the principles and development standards of your field and that you have the capability to deliver exceptional work that will elevate our game. One tip we can recommend is searching for portfolios or reels online from comparable games and studios, to see what is generally expected from your field in game development.

Keep your portfolio relevant and only show us your best work!

I want to apply for a position that isn't listed here. How can I do that?

If the position you would like to apply for isn’t listed above,  please use the “General Application” form instead.

When will I hear from you about my application?

We will typically respond within 2-4 weeks. We try to get to all applications as quickly as we can, but it is important for us to evaluate each application carefully.

If you don’t hear from us within 6 weeks, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again.

How do I get into the video game industry?

Everyone has their own path into the industry, and this can also depend on your specific field.

Our general recommendation is that you seek education and training that are appropriate or expected for the field you are applying to. Following your education, develop a strong portfolio (get feedback!), develop something yourself, and/or find an internship with a company that is relevant to the job you are looking for.
