Myrkur Software recently arranged a visit for students at Fjölbrautaskóli Norðurlands vestra(FNV) high school to visit Reykjavík University. The students who attended are all part of a course at FNV, which premiered last semester with the highest popularity of any elective course at the school. Myrkur Software assists in creating educational material for the students and helped coordinate their visit to Reykjavík University. Reykjavík University invited students into class, specifically Computer Game Design & Developer, taught by David J. Thue and Marco Bancale in which students were introduced to what Reykjavík University has to offer in game development education. David and Marco gave a great introduction to the students, who all showed immense enthusiasm and interest. After the class visit, students got an exclusive tour by Hannes H. Vilhjálmsson around the facilities. Hannes introduced students to some of the projects being developed by students at the school, many of which were developed for virtual reality.
After the tour, students sat down for snacks in which Hannes and David held a Q&A for the students, offering students a unique opportunity to learn more about the school. Students were interested in learning about educational opportunities at Reykjavík University and showed great interest in learning more about video game development and other virtual reality projects developed at the school.
Students gave positive feedback of their visit, which hopefully will help make this become a yearly event for Fjölbrautaskóli Norðurlands vestra, Reykjavík University and Myrkur Software.
